I did finish the silversmith painting, but I could never get a really good photo of it because of the background.

Today I want to talk about a painting I recycled. In 2017, I created a series of 5 watercolor paintings centered around Bansai tray landscapes. They all worked except the last one. Eventually I put it away with the thought of using the back side for a different work. I never got back to it.

The Kansas City Artist Coalition announced a members only show for November 2020. But the catch was that the work could not be larger than 18 inches, including the frame. I only work on much larger paintings. What do I do? I want to be in that show. I started going through all my works that I thought would be small enough. I found a frame and matt, but no painting. When I went through folders of unframed paintings, I rediscovered that Bonsai painting. I repainted it and cut it down to size. It came out ok.
