I am finished with the portrait titled "Colleen". What I learned from this work is: don't do a portrait of a friend. Even though I told her she would not like it because I was focused on shadows and dramatic expression, her reaction was less than positive. I should have done it and not told her. I enter a lot of competitions out of this area. She would never have known. Live and learn....except that the next 2 portraits are also of friends. lol
