I'm back...finally. I was taking the summer off when, on August 27, 2021, my husband jumped down from an excavator vehicle and broke one of his legs. He had two surgeries, a month in a rehab facility and lots of physical therapy. He still has a long way to go, but he is in much better shape. That has finally freed my time up so that I am back in the studio part time.

During the time I was taking care of my husband, I wanted to paint and I did manage one small, monochromatic watercolor called "Up The Hill To Another Hill", 8x13". It expressed how I was feeling.

I decided that I might be able to accomplish more if I dug out my old acrylics and worked small, that meaning 12x12" canvas. I managed to do 3 paintings, none of which were very good because I haven't worked in acrylics in probably 30 years. Here they are:

                                                      Portrait of Debbie

                                                       Stripes

Not A Portrait Of Collette B.

Now I have finally begun a new watercolor portrait. I will try to give you daily updates. The woman I am painting is an abstract artist. I went to her studio and took a number of photos. I asked a lot of personal questions to help me determine how I wanted to do the background. All will be explained when I finish. The painting is 18x32" on 300 pound coldpress watercolor paper.

                                           Day 1
