I decided I wanted to paint a portrait of my friend, Jessie, who is a warm and cold glass artist as well as a former art teaching colleague. I exaggerated her hands on purpose. I traced her image on 29x21" 300 lb. watercolor paper last week. Since then I have been working on little figures to add to the background. It is like putting a puzzle together. I move them here and there, remove them, rearrange them again. I do that until the picture finally looks right. I think I am about done.
