I'm sure I have told you that I spend more time staring at works in progress and associated photos than I do painting. The shading on my current subject's face is subtle. I never did like that, but I loved the pose and what I wanted to do with the sunglasses, so I ignored the lack of shadows. I decided to take her photo to my photoshop elements and exaggerate shading to see if I could make anything happen. What I saw surprised and delighted me. Here are the exaggerated photos. Notice there is a shadow that started on the upper right of her forehead, moving across and down past her ear toward her chin; kind of a half moon or even the number "6". I'll see how that translates in paint.

I did a little deepening of the skin tones this weekend prior to my "discovery".
