When I considered a cross hatching technique on the background, it didn't register that I was about to use the old fashioned sgraffito technique that I taught students decades ago. I feel odd about that. I guess old can be new again. Until the entire painting is done, I won't know if I need to crisp up the line work. Now it is time to work on the figures...but not while the KC Chiefs are playing!
