I have 3 new drawing almost ready to paint. Two are large, odd sizes so I can't just go to the art supply store and buy sheets. So my husband helped me measure and cut the sizes I need from my 300 lb. coldpress watercolor roll. It is so thick and stiff that we use bricks to help hold it flat.
The next step is to soak each sheet in a clean bathtub to get the paper to relax and straighten. Then I hang them to dry flat. That takes a day or two. Then I will be ready to re-measure to make sure the dimensions are correct. Once that is done, I can trace my drawings onto watercolor paper.
