I think the reason this painting is taking so long is that I know the model. I don't want to hurt her feeling with a painting that makes her look ugly. I do want it dramatic but not evil looking. Well, I am in trouble. I don't know if I can make it work or not. I will take a sponge to the shading to lighten it back up in the neck and chin area. But then I will lose color and will have to add that back in. I will have to use all my skills if this work has a chance.
