I got on my Photoshop Elements 18 and played with the photo of my hair, trying to see the directions my hair curls. I will have to draw them before painting.

I ordered some new Filbert Grainer brushes from Dick Blick for my hair work. I have been working on sample textures and colors and think I know what I am going to do to make it all work. I have laid a pencil on the hair sample that I will be doing. I will first lay down a light brown wash because it would not look good with white showing through as if I were an air head. Then, starting with the largest brush and a relatively light brown, I will begin to lay down color in the pattern of my hair. I will gradually  darken the colors and values and slowly work down to smaller and smaller brushes.
