Well, I did everything I could to lighten that nostril short of scrubbing a hole in the paper. I couldn't get it light enough. So I had two choices. I could either throw out the painting or experiment with the product you see in the photo. I tested it. I've never used it before although I looked at videos online. I am a watercolor purest but I am not totally narrow minded. I have to wait 24 hours before painting over it, so I am going ahead and starting on my self portrait. I've had it drawn since the spring but wanted to do the 5 studies first. If I'm not ready now, I'll never be.
