I prepared 5 pipettes of colors. I dropped a single drop of color onto the tree trunk and then used a can of air to blow the colors about. Each color needed to dry before I started the next. I didn't want them to blend like the greenery in the background. I started with yellow green and progressed to darker colors. The can of air gave me a lot of control, but sometimes the colors went where they wanted to.
