Hi All:
You are looking at a 51”x11 yd.
roll of Lanaquarelle cold pressed 300 lb. watercolor paper. I have been saving
this roll for some time. It is hard to find and expensive. But today I opened
up the box and, with some help due to its weight, brought it out to cut some pieces. It was difficult to handle because it is very thick and stiff.
I laid a clean sheet on the
carpet and laid a sheet covered brick at one end to hold the paper down. I
rolled the paper out to 28-30 inches. Bill held the roll against the couch to
keep it from rolling closed while I cut the paper. We both wore gloves so that
no skin oil touched the paper. I cut 3 strips.
Now with the help of clamps,
stretchers and water I will force the paper flat. I am within several days of
being ready to start transferring drawings to watercolor paper. It will take
several days of drying before the paper is ready. So it will all work out.
